According to RIA Novosti, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said on September 11 that after a meeting of the National Security Council, the Polish army will go to Ukraine to learn how to shoot down drones.

"I gladly accepted President Zelensky's proposal. We discussed technical issues," Prime Minister Donald Tusk said in response to a question about the Polish army studying Ukraine's experience.

Mr. Tusk said that the Polish Defense and Foreign Ministers will be sent to Kiev to organize this training course.

"Foreign Minister Sikorski has arrived in Kiev, on September 9, Defense Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz will be there, and at this time experts, including military personnel, discussed among themselves how Poland can apply the experience of Ukraine," the Polish Prime Minister said.

In addition, Poland will completely close its border with Belarus at midnight from September 11 to September 12. Explaining the decision, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said it was related to “security interests”, especially in the context of the Russia-Belarus military exercise “West-2025” that will begin on September 12.

Mr Tusk also said another reason for the decision to close the border was Belarus' arrest of a Polish citizen suspected of espionage.

It is still unclear how long Poland will close its border with Belarus. Polish Minister of Internal Affairs and Public Administration Marcin Kerwiński said that the date of the border opening has not been determined yet and will not be tied to the end of the "West-2025" exercises. According to him, the border closure is not Poland's biggest concern about the Russian-Belarusian exercises, but "provocations in the broad sense."

Earlier on September 10, Prime Minister Tusk claimed that "dangerous" drones had been shot down over Polish airspace, calling them "Russian", but did not provide evidence. EC President Ursula von der Leyen later said that more than 10 UAVs were involved.

Russia's Acting Representative Andrei Ordash told RIA Novosti that Poland has not provided evidence of the alleged Russian origin of the drones shot down on its territory.
