The second Hanoi International Film Festival is being prepared. The Organizing Committee has received 200 films from 38 countries and territories to participate. Vietnam has 6 feature films registered, of which Step Gently to Happiness (directed by Luu Trong Ninh) is highly appreciated.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has assigned the Vietnam Cinema Department to organize the 2nd Hanoi International Film Festival under Decision No. QD-BVHTTDL. Accordingly, the 2nd Hanoi International Film Festival will officially take place from November 25 to November 29. On November 25, the opening ceremony of the 2nd Hanoi International Film Festival will be held at 8:00 p.m. at the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Cultural Palace and will be broadcast live. On November 29, the closing ceremony and award ceremony will also be held at the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Cultural Palace and broadcast live on television.
Up to now, the Organizing Committee of the 2nd Hanoi International Film Festival has received 200 films from 38 countries and territories, such as Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Laos, China, Korea, Japan, India, Australia, England, France, Germany, Spain... For Vietnamese cinema, the Organizing Committee has received 6 films to participate in the competition, including the filmStep softly to happiness(Director Luu Trong Ninh) is considered a heavyweight. However, the Organizing Committee said that they have not officially decided which film will represent Vietnamese cinema at this Hanoi International Film Festival. At the first Hanoi International Film Festival, the filmLong Thanh musicianby director Dao Ba Son was chosen to represent Vietnamese cinema to attend, however, the film only won the Best Actress award for Nhat Kim Anh (as Cam).

There will be 3 award categories for: feature films, short films (short films, documentaries, animations) and NETPAC awards (network for the promotion of Asian Cinema). Ms. Ngo Phuong Lan - Director of the Department of Cinema said that the members of the jury in each award category will be famous artists, stars, film producers, experienced, prestigious in the world and in Vietnam. The Hanoi International Film Festival has completed the design of the logo, website... to update information for the event. It is expected that about 1,000 delegates, guests and reporters will attend the festival, of which about 200 are foreign guests and delegates. The sideline activities of the Hanoi International Film Festival (HANIFF) will take place at the Deawoo Hotel.
