UN urges Cambodian parties to resume talks
According to Xinhua News Agency, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Cambodia, Surya P. Subedi, on January 16 urged the ruling Cambodian People's Party (CPP) and opposition parties in the country to resume negotiations without further delay to find a solution to the current political crisis.

"Political reconciliation is the only way forward for the country and I call on both sides to be flexible in working together to find a solution to end the current deadlock," Subedi said at a press conference at the end of a five-day fact-finding mission on human rights in Cambodia.
During his tenure, Mr. Subedi met privately with Prime Minister Hun Sen of the CPP and leader of the opposition Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP) Sam Rainsy to listen to their views on the current political disagreements./.
