Lebanon seizes 230kg of Captagon drug at Beirut airport

On October 30, the Lebanese Ministry of Finance said that the country's Customs discovered 230kg of Captagon amphetamine pills hidden in tables prepared to be exported to Qatar from Beirut International Airport on the evening of October 29.

It is not yet clear who is behind the shipment and the investigation is underway.

The incident comes just days after Lebanese authorities found two tonnes of the drug on a private plane en route to Qatar and arrested five Saudi citizens.

According to the Lebanese news agency, this is the largest smuggling case ever discovered at Beirut airport.
