Within just half a month, U19 Vietnam and U19 Myanmar met twice. |
Losing 2-3 to U19 Japan on the evening of September 9, U19 Vietnam finished second in Group B of the U19 Southeast Asian tournament. Coach Guillaume Graechen and his team's opponent in the semi-finals is U19 Myanmar, the team that defeated both U19 Thailand and U19 Indonesia to win six absolute points and top Group A.
According to the original plan, the first semi-final match between U19 Vietnam and U19 Myanmar will take place at 4:30 p.m. on September 11. The second semi-final match between U19 Japan (first place in Group B) and U19 Thailand (second place in Group A) will take place at 7 p.m. on the same day.
However, in order to serve the needs of fans nationwide to enjoy the match between U19 Vietnam and U19 Myanmar, the Vietnam Football Federation has proposed and received approval from the Southeast Asian Football Federation to change the semi-final match time. Accordingly, the match between U19 Vietnam and U19 Myanmar will take place at 7:15 p.m. on September 11. Meanwhile, the match between U19 Thailand and U19 Japan will be moved up to 4:30 p.m. on the same day.
Meeting U19 Myanmar is an opportunity for coach Graechen and his team to "pay back" the final match of the U22 Southeast Asia tournament. In the match that took place on August 23 in Brunei, U19 Vietnam lost 3-4, sadly watching their opponents win the championship.
