Holiday schedule for April 30th, May 1st and Hung Kings Commemoration Day 2015

According to an announcement from the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, signed by Minister Pham Thi Hai Chuyen, in 2015 workers will have a combined 6-day holiday for Hung Kings' Commemoration Day, April 30th, and International Labour Day on May 1st.

Long holidays are observed according to regulations on swapping holidays throughout the year.

Accordingly, those eligible for this rescheduled leave include officials, civil servants, and employees of administrative and public service agencies and political organizations, and socio-political organizations (hereinafter referred to as officials and civil servants).

Specifically, employees will work Saturday (April 25, 2015) to compensate for taking Wednesday (April 29, 2015) off. April 26th is a normal weekly day off. Employees will work as usual on April 27th.

Therefore, the April 30th holiday in 2015 for civil servants and public employees will be a continuous 6-day period, from April 28th to May 3rd, 2015.

For units and agencies that do not follow a fixed 2-day weekend holiday schedule (Saturday and Sunday), the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs requires them to base their holiday arrangements on their specific plans.

Previously, at the November regular session, the Government agreed in principle to the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs' proposal regarding the Lunar New Year holiday and the swapping of weekly days off during public holidays in 2015.
