17th North Central Art Photography Festival
On the evening of September 20, in Thanh Hoa City, the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, the Association of Literature and Arts and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Thanh Hoa organized the opening ceremony of the 17th North Central Region Art Photography Exhibition 2010 with the theme "North Central Region Today" to celebrate the 1000th anniversary of Thang Long - Hanoi and the Party Congresses at all levels.

Comrades Nguyen Van Loi (Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee), Vu Quoc Khanh (Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists), Vuong Van Viet (Vice Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee), Literature and Arts Associations of 6 provinces in the North Central region, many artists and photography fans attended.

This year's festival attracted 171 authors from 6 provinces in the region (Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien - Hue) with 707 photos submitted. The jury was chaired by Mr. Dang Ngoc Thai (Vice Chairman of the Art Council); members: Vu Huyen (LLPBNA); Hoang Kim Dang (Outstanding Photographer); Tran Manh Thuong (LLPBNA); Dinh Quang Thanh (Outstanding Photographer).
Bronze medals were awarded to authors Sy Minh, Le Kim Hai and Nguyen Huu Hai.
Overall results: 1 gold medal, 2 silver medals, 6 bronze medals and 97 works on display.
Specifically:
- Thanh Hoa: 1 Gold Medal, work "Walking in the Golden Season of the Country" (Trong Dat), 1 Silver Medal "Mother's Angel" (Tran Dam); 2 KK "For Tomorrow's Water Source" (Nguyen The Dung) and "Overcoming the Scar" (Le Hac) and 31 exhibition cities;
- Thua Thien Hue: 1 Silver Medal "Royal Night" (Ngo Thanh Minh); 2 Bronze Medals "Pulling the Net" (Le Kim Hai); "Calling" (Nguyen Huu Hai) and 24 exhibition cities;
- Nghe An: 1 Bronze Medal "Conquering the Earth" (Sy Minh), 1 KK Prize "Love of Vietnam and Laos" (Sy Minh) and 12 exhibition cities;
-Quang Tri: 1KK "My Grandmother" (Ly Hau) and 10 exhibition cities;
-Quang Binh: 1 "Farmer's Hands" exhibition (Hoang An) and 11 exhibition cities;
- Ha Tinh: 1KK "Industrial features" (Tran Chung) and 9 exhibition cities.
The team prize belongs to Thanh Hoa Province Literature and Arts Association and Thua Thien Hue Province Literature and Arts Association.
Delegates view the exhibition area of works from Thanh Hoa and Nghe An.
On the morning of September 21, delegates attended a professional workshop to evaluate the competition and provide direction for artists’ creative development in the coming time. The 18th North Central Regional Art Photography Festival 2011 will take place in Quang Tri.
