Artistic photography festival about "The country and people of North Central Vietnam..."
(Baonghean)For 19 consecutive years, there has been a cultural activity held annually on the occasion of the historic September of the country and homeland, which is the Art Photography Festival of 6 provinces in the North Central region. This year, Nghe An province is honored to host the festival. At the closing ceremony of the 18th Art Photography Festival of the North Central region in 2011 in Quang Tri province, with the consent of the provincial leaders, the provincial Literature and Arts Association accepted to host the 19th Festival.
The 19th North Central Regional Art Photography Festival 2012 with the theme “The Country and People of the North Central Region in the Cause of Building and Defending the Fatherland” took place in Vinh City for 3 days (from September 8-10).

Despite many difficulties, the provincial Literature and Arts Association has done a good job of preparation, especially ensuring the reception of 1,074 artistic photography works by 175 authors in 6 provinces in the region. Of which, Thanh Hoa has 201 works by 37 authors, Ha Tinh has 149 works by 24 authors, Quang Binh has 107 works by 18 authors, Quang Tri has 148 works by 24 authors, Thua Thien-Hue has 226 works by 35 authors and Nghe An, the host locality, has the largest number of participants with 243 works by 37 authors.
Thua Thien - Hue has 11 members participating in this Festival. With love for Uncle Ho's homeland, the provincial Association of Photographers and Artists has created conditions for photographers to come to Nghe An since September 2, 6 days before the photo judging. Artist Truong Vung, who has many achievements in photography, confided: "Although arriving in Nghe An at a time when the weather was not favorable, the provincial Association of Literature and Arts warmly welcomed us and contacted Quy Chau and Quynh Luu districts for the group to go on field trips. Wherever we went, we were enthusiastically guided by the locals, colleagues and people. The mountainous district of Quy Chau has many beautiful landscapes, many areas are still wild, especially the brocade weaving profession is still maintained, which is an opportunity for photographers to explore. Some coastal communes in Quynh Luu also have many images of coastal villages and unique cultural activities." Artist Truong Vung also said: "At the right time, there will be a separate trip to have the opportunity to work more in Nghe An."
Today (September 10), the North Central Region Art Photography Festival will open a photo exhibition, exchange professional skills and conclude activities in Vinh City. Previously, on September 8, the Jury held a public judging session. After 6 rounds of judging 1,074 works by 175 authors, the Jury selected 150 photos for display. Of which, 11 official awards include 1 Gold, 2 Silver, 3 Bronze and 5 Encouragement awards. For Nghe An, the exciting and noteworthy thing is that it has won the highest award at this Festival. Yesterday (September 9), the Organizing Committee launched a Marathon photo composition contest for authors attending the festival with the theme "Joy and Movement" in Nghe An. This is a new feature that the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists has learned through several professional training courses to encourage photographers and photographers to stay close to life, respond to literary innovation and serve political tasks, in line with the Party's literary and artistic guidelines.
