Ukraine, with the support of Western countries, has proposed a draft resolution to the UN General Assembly that is supposed to be aimed at achieving peace. The document does not call for peace talks or a ceasefire. It calls on the parties to comply with their obligations towards civilians and prisoners of war.
Russia's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Vasily Nebenzya stated that the resolution will not contribute to the transition to "a peaceful solution to the conflicts between Russia and the West that escalated a year ago." According to him, this document is one-sided and far from reality./.
