4-house linkage - Point model for large-scale field
One region, one variety, one time is the rice production model being applied by farmers in Nghi Duc commune, Tanh Linh district, Binh Thuan province. After 2 years of implementation, the model has brought many results, opening up a new form of production organization in building new rural areas.
Still the old name is the 4-house linkage model with 4 main participants: farmers, the State, scientists and businesses, but the way this model is implemented in Nghi Duc commune has made a difference compared to other localities, and at the same time attracted a large number of farmers to participate.
On an area of 100 hectares, more than 310 households participating in the model have complied with the general management of the team, group from land preparation to harvest. Thanks to the unity in selecting varieties, disease prevention methods as well as applying scientific and production advances, the rice yield in this 100-hectare field has recently reached quite high.

Not only saving costs, increasing harvest output, thereby increasing farmers' income, but through this production organization, Nghi Duc commune can create new links in production between small and fragmented households. Similar to land consolidation and plot exchange, this 4-house linkage model has created synchronization in the application of scientific and technical advances, mechanizing rice production, thereby creating quality products with competitive ability.
Currently, the rice production area according to the 4-house model is carried out on irrigated fields with convenient internal traffic. In the coming time, it will be expanded to attract more farmers to the model.
In the difficult living conditions of the majority of farmers, the 4-house linkage model implemented by Nghi Duc commune has helped farmers solve their worries about investment costs as well as product output. The advance payment of 50% of rice seeds and fertilizers calculated at current market prices and the commitment to purchase all fresh rice from farmers at harvest prices by enterprises participating in the model has brought peace of mind to farmers when participating in the model.
With the 4-house rice production model, farmers in Nghi Duc commune have initially formed a concentrated commodity production area. This will also be an important premise for implementing land consolidation and plot exchange, converting crop and livestock structures in new rural construction, towards the ultimate goal of changing the production model towards increasing farmers' income.
