(Baonghean.vn) - In recent times, Ky Son District Police have continuously dismantled drug trafficking and transportation lines from the Lao border to Vietnam. Many high-ranking subjects, armed with firearms, are ready to fight back against the arresting forces.
Captain Le Dang Cuong, Head of the Drug Police Team of Ky Son District Police, said that they have just initiated a case, prosecuted the accused, temporarily detained and handed over Ho Ba Co, (born in 1975), residing in Hoi Khe village, Huoi Tu commune, to the provincial police detention center for the crime of illegal drug trafficking. She is a link in the transnational drug trafficking ring, from the Lao border to Vietnam through small-scale routes. On August 20, Ho Ba Co was caught red-handed by the anti-drug force of the Nam Can International Border Guard Station while transporting 179 synthetic drug pills and 17.81. After that, the subject and the evidence were handed over to Ky Son District Police for further investigation and clarification.

Captain Cuong said that with the characteristics of a border district, adjacent to many complicated drug-related points of Laos, Ky Son has always been a hot spot for drugs in Nghe An. In recent times, with the efforts of the district police officers and soldiers, many drug rings and complicated locations have been destroyed.
In July, through the investigation, drug detectives of Ky Son District Police discovered that Lo Van Oanh (born in 1976), residing in Luu Kien Commune, Tuong Duong District, had signs of retailing drugs. Oanh's line originated from the Nam Can border gate area, along Highway 7, transporting to the downstream to sell to addicts. Ky Son District Police established Project 713K to fight and clarify the case. On July 21, when Oanh had just purchased a batch of white goods in the border area, transporting them by motorbike to the downstream, he was ambushed by a district police task force in Cau Tam village, Ta Ca Commune. Although Oanh recklessly accelerated and ran away, with the smooth coordination of the detectives, he had to be handcuffed with evidence of 110 grams of heroin, 1 synthetic drug pill, 1 motorbike and a mobile phone used for heroin trafficking.

Previously, the Drug Police Team of Ky Son District Police also broke up Project 613C, arresting Moong Van Hoanh (born in 1976), Chieu Luu Commune, Ky Son, who was transporting heroin for sale. Hoanh is a drug addict, with two previous convictions for Illegal drug trafficking and Consumption of property obtained through crime. When arrested, Hoanh was carrying 15.8 grams of heroin for sale. Notably, Hoanh had a grenade on him. When surrounded by detectives, Hoanh intended to pull the pin and risk his life with the police, but with professional measures, the soldiers controlled and knocked him down, not giving him the chance to throw the grenade.
