In last night's match against Nigeria, the four-time Ballon d'Or winner scored a double, bringing his total number of goals at the 2014 World Cup to four, equal to Brazil's Neymar.
Before that, Messi scored the equalizer in the 2-1 win over Bosnia-Herzegovina, and scored the only goal in the last minute to help Argentina beat Iran 1-0. In both matches, Messi was also voted FIFA's best player of the match.
Not stopping there, with a double against Nigeria, Messi and El Pulga equaled Argentina's record of scoring 4 consecutive goals in a World Cup set by legend Diego Maradona in Mexico 1986 - the World Cup in which Argentina won.
With what is happening, Argentina fans are expecting Lionel Messi and his teammates to repeat the achievement that happened 28 years ago.
In the round of 16, as the winner of group F, Argentina will face the second team of group E, Switzerland.
