Exposing a drug lord disguised as a tycoon from 20 heroin bricks hidden on the side of a truck
A cross-border drug ring led by a tycoon was exposed after authorities arrested a group of people transporting 20 bricks of drugs from Son La to Lang Son.
At about 5:30 p.m. on May 16, at Km62+500 of National Highway 1A Hanoi - Lang Son (in Minh Khai village, Chi Lang commune, Chi Lang district, Lang Son province), the PC47 reconnaissance team of Lang Son Provincial Police coordinated with Tung Dien Traffic Control Station to stop a truck with license plate 29C-806.74. The vehicle was driven by Pham Xuan Lan (born in 1981) and his younger brother Pham Xuan Dung (born in 1983, both from Moc Chau town, Son La).

Upon inspection, Lang Son provincial authorities discovered 20 cakes of white powder (suspected to be heroin) cleverly hidden in the side of the car. The subjects confessed to transporting the drugs to a tycoon in Phu Loc 4 area (Lang Son city) for 2.8 billion VND.

Expanding the investigation, local police continued to search and urgently arrested Trieu Ky Voong - the owner of the largest restaurant and hotel chain in Lang Son at 37 M Street, Phu Loc 4 Area, Hoang Van Thu Ward, Lang Son City.
Currently, Lang Son police continue to investigate and expand the case.
