Fearing landslides, Tuong Duong evacuated people
(Baonghean.vn) - In recent days, the border commune of Tam Quang in particular and Tuong Duong district in general have had heavy rains leading to a very high risk of landslides. Border guards and officials of Tam Quang border commune have helped many households at risk of landslides to safety.
According to information from the People's Committee of the communeTam Quangsaid that in recent days, heavy rains have occurred over a large area, causing a very high risk of landslides. To ensure the safety of people and property, the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Tam Quang border commune has assigned members to vulnerable areas to promptly deploy activities to prevent landslides, flash floods, and flash floods.

Realizing that many households in Tan Huong and Tung Huong villages are at high risk of landslides, on October 19, the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Tam Quang commune coordinated with Tam Quang Border Guard Station to urgently evacuate 20 households in Tung Huong and Tan Huong villages to a safe place. In addition, the Commune Steering Committee also promptly provided instant noodles and some necessities to the households in need of evacuation and families with sick members.
Also on October 19, in Nga My commune, Tuong Duong district, commune officials and some forces helped some households in Xop Kho village harvest rice to escape the flood.
According to the report ofSteering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and RescueTuong Duong district, from October 16-19, 2020, heavy rain occurred in Tuong Duong district with strong intensity, causing damage to many people's properties and houses.
