The batch of "cheap" Honda cars has arrived at the dealers
The first Honda cars in a batch of more than 2,000 imported nearly a month ago and enjoying preferential tax policies since 2018 have been delivered to dealers and are preparing to be delivered to customers in Vietnam.
In early March 2018, more than 2,000 Honda brand cars including CR-V, Civic, Jazz and Accord models arrived in Vietnam. These are the first imported cars from Thailand to enjoy preferential import tax rates since 2018.
When the batch of more than 2,000 Honda Vietnam cars arrived in the country, many people said that it would take the car company nearly 2 months to complete the procedures of Decree 116 to clear customs and deliver the cars to consumers.

However, on March 20, the Customs Branch of Hiep Phuoc Port, Ho Chi Minh City, said it had completed customs clearance procedures for 1,054 Honda cars from a shipment of more than 2,000 cars that had just been imported from Thailand under the import tax exemption program. These cars have been granted a Certificate of Technical Safety and Environmental Protection and cleared by the inspection agency.
On March 25, the first cars in this batch were delivered to Honda auto dealers in the South, preparing to hand over to customers who pre-ordered. According to information, currently only the CR-V and Jazz models have been delivered to the dealers first, the remaining Civic and Accord will be delivered later.
According to the leader of a Honda dealership in Ho Chi Minh City, about 30 CR-V and Jazz cars have been delivered to the dealership. The 2018 CR-V cars have been registered for license plates and will be delivered to customers who pre-ordered them in the last week of March 2018. The Honda Jazz will not be delivered to customers until mid-April 2018 because it is waiting for the registration tax schedule.
Thus, the batch of Honda cars enjoying preferential tax policies since 2018 reached consumers in Vietnam nearly 1 month faster than originally expected. This is considered a good sign to relieve the "thirst" for imported cars in Vietnam in the past 3 months.

According to the official selling price announced by Honda Vietnam on March 5 of the company's products after enjoying 0% import tax within ASEAN. The selling price of Honda CR-V 2018 has decreased by the highest amount of nearly 200 million VND. Specifically, CR-V E version is only 958 million VND (previously 1,136 billion VND). CR-V G version is 998 million VND (previously 1,176 billion VND) and CR-V L version is 1,068 billion VND (pre-tax-free price is 1,256 billion VND). Honda Civic 1.5L Turbo version will be priced at 898 million VND, unchanged from before.
Honda Vietnam also added the Civic 1.8E version with a price of about 758 million VND. The small hatchback Honda Jazz will be imported from Thailand and sold in 3 versions: V, VX and RS. The prices are about 539, 589 and 619 million VND respectively. The price of the D-size sedan Honda Accord has not changed much, still at 1.198 billion VND.
