Exclusion of foreign artifacts from monuments
The cultural sector will gradually eliminate foreign artifacts from relics nationwide, a representative of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has just announced.
From now until July, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will carry out this work at relics in three provinces and cities: Hanoi, Nghe An and Can Tho. The remaining provinces and cities will evaluate and synthesize reports to the Ministry, from which appropriate handling plans will be made.
The process of inventorying and evaluating artifacts at relics must involve researchers, so that appropriate measures can be taken. Relics will have a list of artifacts before being recognized, so foreign artifacts will be removed. Relics that receive donations of artifacts that are not in accordance with Vietnamese culture, traditions, and customs must be returned and not displayed in the relics.
Along with that, the cultural sector will organize thematic exhibitions, in-depth information to the public about artifacts imbued with Vietnamese cultural identity.
