Parking fee chaos
(Baonghean.vn) - According to state regulations, the parking fee for motorbikes is 2,000 VND, for bicycles 500 VND, and for cars 10,000 VND, but many places violate it. The chaos of vehicle parking fees happened right at Ho Chi Minh Square.
The price list right at the Square is just for fun.
Recently (March 23), during the sports activity "Running with Sacombank for community health" held at Ho Chi Minh Square, our reporter was assigned to report. Right at the entrance to the parking lot, the price for bicycles was listed at 1,000 VND, for motorbikes at 2,000 VND, but the parking attendant charged 3,000 VND. Not only that, when we had just taken our bikes out, we met another father and son who looked like they had come from afar, their bikes covered in red mud, entering to park. The parking attendant asked for money first, the father asked for the price, and received the answer "please give me 5,000 VND". We turned back to ask why they charged like that, but this man did not answer.
Ho Chi Minh Square is a place where major commemorative activities often take place, for people and tourists to visit and commemorate the beloved leader Ho Chi Minh, but the parking service here often charges higher fees than the regulations. Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhu in Quang Trung ward said: I have a small child, so I often take my child to the square, both to educate him/her and to relax on holidays and weekends, but the parking fee is too high, usually 5,000 VND/motorbike. When asked why she did not report it to the Management Board or local authorities, Ms. Nhu shook her head: It is annoying, but it is only a few thousand, will they take action if I report it, or will it just be like throwing stones into a pond of duckweed? It is just a waste of time, so I give up.
I still remember, the 2012 Nghe An International Trade Fair took place at the Central Park, where there were places that charged up to 10,000 VND/motorbike. Mr. D. was upset: My wife and children and I went to the fair to visit, parked our motorbikes right at the gate of the fair, but were charged 10,000 VND/motorbike. In response to this price, the parking attendant coldly declared: there are no regulations here. When talking to the competent authority, the market management agency, we only received a vague promise: We will send someone to check.
Not only in the Square, but in many places, the situation of charging higher parking fees than the regulations is happening. One person clicked his tongue: never mind, two people also: never mind, and when the authorities received feedback from the people, they also listened and ignored it, not taking responsibility to check and handle it, so in the end, consumers were pickpocketed. The chaotic parking fees are not difficult to check and are not a new problem, happening frequently, but the problem is that the authorities and local governments are standing outside of it.
