Series of cars just launched in the Vietnamese market in June

The Vietnamese automobile market in June was quite exciting with the presence of many new car models from low-priced, popular to high-end segments.

Honda Accord 2014

On June 25, Honda Vietnam introduced the 9th generation Accord sedan with notable changes in interior, exterior and engine design. The exterior stands out at the front of the car with a shiny chrome-plated two-bar grille and LED lighting system.

Meanwhile, the luxurious interior space with leather-wrapped steering wheel and wood paneling integrated with gearshift paddles. The car uses push-button start and smart key. The driver's seat is 8-way power adjustable while the passenger seat is 4-way power adjustable. The i-MID screen integrates a rear camera. The air conditioning system has two independent climate zones.

Honda Accord 2014 is equipped with i-VTEC DOHC engine, 2.4L capacity, 5-speed automatic transmission. The engine applies Earth Dreams technology to help save fuel compared to the previous generation and helps produce maximum capacity of 129 kw at 6,200 rpm, maximum torque of 225 Nm at 4,000 rpm.

Honda's sedan model has a selling price of 1.48 billion VND, competing directly with Toyota Camry and Nissan Teana models.

Peugeot 208 and 508

In mid-June, the official assembler and distributor of Peugeot cars in Vietnam, Thaco Truong Hai Company, introduced two models, Peugeot 208 and 508.

Peugeot 208 belongs to the B-class hatchback small car segment, and is a popular model since its launch in Europe in 2013.

Meanwhile, the 508 is Peugeot's best-selling model in the D-class sedan segment, with global sales in the past two years exceeding 200,000 units.

Prices for the Peugeot duo have yet to be announced.

Mercedes-Benz S500L Upgrade

The new upgraded version of Mercedes-Benz S500L is equipped with business class seats with integrated calf support cushions and can recline 43.5 degrees. Another interesting feature is the control panel with touchpad that allows the driver to easily set the vehicle's parameters via the multi-touch surface. Meanwhile, the Splitview screen displays 2 different layers of high-quality images right on the same central screen.

The sedan is also equipped with a TV receiver capable of broadcasting 25 TV channels in Vietnam, a 24-speaker Burmester high-end 3D surround sound system, and the rear camera system has also been upgraded to a 360-degree camera.

Other features, amenities and engine remain the same as the old version. The selling price of the improved S500L 2014 is 4.7 billion VND.

Toyota Yaris 2014

On June 10, Toyota Vietnam officially introduced the Yaris 2014 model to domestic users. This model is imported completely from Thailand.

The hatch-back model has significantly improved interior and exterior design. The front of the car stands out with a trapezoidal grille, sharp, slim headlights extending to both sides, electric folding rearview mirrors with integrated turn signals. 15-inch, 8-spoke rims. Meanwhile, the interior space of the 2014 Yaris is quite spacious, reflected in the arrangement of the distance between the two rows of seats, legroom, knee clearance and ceiling. The seats are sewn with embossed stitching on the surface combined with contrasting contrasting colors.

The genuine 2014 Yaris model has 5 colors including silver, gray, dark red, light blue and white. The starting price is 620 million VND for the 1.3E version and 669 million VND for the 1.3G version.

Audi A8L 2014

The luxury sedan was introduced by Audi Vietnam in early June. The new upgraded Audi A8L stands out with its lightweight structure and flexible chassis system. In addition, the matrix LED headlight system includes 25 bulbs that can be turned on and off individually or lowered when needed. This technology allows the headlight system to react flexibly to oncoming vehicles or vehicles in front, avoiding glare while still ensuring clear illumination for the driver.

The 2014 Audi A8L uses a 4.0 TFSI V8 turbo gasoline engine with a capacity of 320 kW (435 horsepower). The car only takes 4.6 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h. The 3.0 TFSI quattro version uses an engine with a capacity of 228 kW (310 horsepower). Average fuel consumption is only 7.9l/100km.

Suggested retail price for Audi A8L 4.0 TFSI quattro from 4.8 billion VND. A8L 3.0 TFSI quattro version costs 4.4 billion VND.
