A warning to the "gullible"
(Baonghean) -In 2008, Nguyen Th.G (Nghi Loc) was just 16 years old. Faced with difficult circumstances, his father died early, his mother had to raise 5 children alone, following the guidance of his friends, G went to Vung Tau City to earn money to help his mother. In Vung Tau, G was hired by Mr. Pham T.Ph. and Mrs. Nguyen Thi Tr.A.
According to the original agreement, G would help Tr.A and her husband sell groceries and SIM cards and phone cards. Every month, the boss would send G's family 1 million VND, the remaining amount would be paid when G got married. But after a while, the boss forced G to go to a karaoke bar to entertain guests because of a lack of staff. Here, Tr.A forced G to "please" the guests, if she displeased the guests, she would send a "gangster" to "teach" him a lesson. In addition, if the guests requested "entertainment", the boss forced G to "serve" them under the supervision of some "henchmen". All of G's "customer" money was kept by the boss. Not only that, G's daily activities were also monitored, if he wanted to call home, G had to turn on the speakerphone so that Tr.A could monitor him. She also forced G to lie to his mother that the work here was easy and the place to live was very comfortable. Sometimes Tr.A calls G's mother with sweet words, saying that Tr.A sees G as her own child.
Thinking that her brother was living a happy life, in July 2011, G's older sister, Nguyen Th.L, also went to Vung Tau city to look for a job with her brother.
According to G's complaint, on November 26, 2011, after going to see a fortune teller, Mrs. Tr.A said that the fortune teller had predicted that her husband had an illicit relationship with a maid in the house. Tr.A was suspicious and interrogated G and L. During the interrogation, Tr.A held a plastic bottle that she called acid and said that if she confessed, she would be sent back to her hometown, otherwise she would send a "gangster" to deal with her. Too scared, G confessed that she had, hoping that Mrs. Tr.A would forgive her. But not only was she released to return to her hometown as promised, Tr.A also forced G to tell her husband exactly what she had said. In front of Tr.A's husband, G once again affirmed that she had no affair with her boss, but Mrs. Tr.A locked G in a closed room and beat him. Although G cried and begged, Tr.A still called someone to get scissors to cut G's hair and shave his head, forcing G to write on paper according to Tr.A's wishes and to guarantee that he had confessed while sober. Not only that, Tr.A also forced G to choose one of two punishments: having acid thrown on him or having 3 animal tattoos on his face and chest. Too scared, G chose to have 3 monster tattoos on his face and chest. After forcing G to get the tattoos, Tr.A released the two sisters L and G back to their hometown with the threat: "If anyone knows about this, I will send gangsters to your house to deal with it."
The two sisters L and G returned home empty-handed in pain, humiliation and fear. Feeling sorry for the two sisters, their brothers and relatives borrowed and pooled money to take G to Vinh City for treatment to remove her tattoos. At the place where G was treated, we learned that for the past 10 days, G had been receiving treatment to remove her tattoos at a cost of up to 30 million VND but had not yet recovered. On December 11, 2011, with everyone's encouragement, G wrote a complaint to the authorities about the cruel behavior of the owner Tr.A.
Yesterday afternoon (December 13, 2011), two sisters L and G reported this incident to Nghi Loc Police. Currently, Vung Tau City Police are coordinating with Nghi Loc District Police to investigate and clarify the incident.
This incident is also a warning to gullible young women who believe in promises when working in a "foreign land".
