Historical origin of Vietnam Entrepreneurs Day

On October 13, 1945, just over a month after the Democratic Republic of Vietnam was born, President Ho Chi Minh sent a letter to the Vietnamese industrial and commercial community, affirming the special role of the business community in the process of building and developing the country.

In the letter, he expressed his respect and trust in the business community, who held the economic power of the country. He encouraged businessmen to quickly join the Industry and Commerce to Save the Nation, and to contribute capital to the cause of national and people benefit, while affirming that a prosperous national economy is the solid foundation for the independence and prosperity of the country.

From the profound meaning of that letter, on September 20, 2004, Prime Minister Phan Van Khai signed Decision No. 990/QD-TTg, officially choosing October 13 every year as Vietnamese Entrepreneurs Day.
