Benefits from clean coal production technology

(Baonghean) - The project of clean charcoal production factory for export invested by Clean Fuel Joint Stock Company in Khai Son commune, Anh Son district was approved by the Provincial People's Committee for investment policy and permission to survey and establish construction planning in Decision No. 2641/QD.UBND-XD dated June 12, 2014.

Accordingly, the factory will be built in Tri Le Industrial Park, Khai Son Commune (Anh Son), with a capacity of 240,000 tons of clean firewood/year, a total investment of over 129 billion VND, the project will be implemented on an area of ​​15 hectares, with the nature of "multi-purpose, multi-objective" in terms of economy and environmental protection. The raw material input of the factory includes firewood, sawdust, shavings, wood chips, wood chips, small branches and all waste wood from carpentry workshops and industrial wood factories... so it will maximize the volume of tree trunks, moreover, it will make the environment cleaner, tidier, and increase the area for forest planting.

According to a scientific report on global energy issues, the demand for fuel for heating and generators in the world is increasing, especially in countries with cold climates. In fact, the current high oil price, fossil fuels such as coal cannot meet the demand, so there is a need for new alternative sources of raw materials. Calculations show that the birth of clean firewood has demonstrated outstanding advantages: Compared with coal, clean firewood heat reaches 70%, but the cost is only 45%; and compared with DO oil, wood pellet heat reaches 48%, but the cost is less than 30%. Currently, in the whole country, scrap wood sources have not been used properly, in accordance with their potential, economic value and environmental aspects.

At some closed processing facilities from sawing wood to producing final wood products, the amount of waste wood has been utilized as fuel for burning boilers, or creating smoke, generating heat for the drying stage. This method of use has a certain economic significance, reducing the cost of drying wood, product cost, and also limiting waste causing environmental pollution, but it is not yet an optimal solution. Anh Son clean charcoal factory is a good solution for the environment. Recently, in the conclusion of removing difficulties for the project, comrade Huynh Thanh Dien - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee stated: "The Provincial People's Committee identified this as an important industrial project of the province, having a great impact on the socio-economic development of Western Nghe An. Therefore, it is necessary to focus on speeding up the progress of handing over the site to the investor to implement construction, put the factory into operation soon, and exploit it effectively."

Following the direction of the Provincial People's Committee, Anh Son district has resolutely established a Compensation Council for Land Acquisition and Site Clearance. Mr. Nguyen Huu Sang, Vice Chairman of Anh Son District People's Committee, said: The district has identified this as an important project not only for Anh Son district but also for the whole Western region, so it has stepped up propaganda so that people clearly understand the purpose and significance of the project. From there, it has created high consensus and unity. Hamlet 5, Khai Son commune has nearly 100 households subject to land acquisition. Thanks to the propaganda, mobilization and specific explanation, the households have agreed to accept the plan and hand over the site to the investor to implement the project.
