When Thu asked Mrs. Phuc about this relationship, Mrs. Phuc told Thu not to tell anyone about this and promised to give Thu 2 million VND the next day.

At around 12:30 on November 12, Thu called to ask for money, so Mrs. Phuc went to Thu's house to give her money. They talked until around 1:00 p.m. the same day, Thu asked to have sex with Mrs. Phuc, but the victim resisted and shouted loudly. Fearing that the incident would be exposed, Thu used her hands to strangle Mrs. Phuc, then used a brick to attack Mrs. Phuc, causing the victim to die on the spot.

After committing the crime, Thu used a tarpaulin to dry agricultural products and wrapped Mrs. Phuc's body in it, then tied it up with rope. Then, Thu took the tarpaulin containing Ms. Thu's body to the family's pigsty to hide it. To hide her heinous crime, Thu tried to clean up the blood stains on the walls and floor, and neatly arranged the furniture in the house.

At around 5pm the same day, Thu's wife, Vu Thi May (born in 1972), came home from work on the farm and saw her husband alone at home, so she questioned him. At this time, Thu told her about beating Mrs. Phuc to death. At 7pm on November 12, Thu and her husband used a motorbike to transport Mrs. Phuc's body to the drainage ditch in Ea Te village (Krong Jing commune, M'drak district) to dispose of it.

After finishing, Thu went to her family's hut to take a shower, change clothes and then go home to live normally as if nothing had happened. Before that, on the evening of November 12, after not seeing Mrs. Phuc return, Mrs. Phuc's family split up to look for her and reported to the police. After that, the police invited Thu to come in for questioning and she admitted her crime.
