Nghe An Department of Health and Border Guard Command examined, provided free medicine, and gave gifts to people in Tam Hop commune, Tuong Duong district.
The delegation of medical staff from Nghe An province and the provincial Border Guard medical staff examined and provided free medicine to nearly 300 people; presented 30 gifts to policy families, students with difficult circumstances who achieved high academic achievements, and people with serious illnesses.

On the morning of June 15, in Tam Hop commune, Tuong Duong district, the Department of Health and the Nghe An Border Guard Command organized a program to examine, provide free medicine and give gifts to people.
Attending the program were representatives of the Department of Health, Nghe An Border Guard Command, Tuong Duong District Medical Center, Tam Hop Border Guard Station, Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee of Tam Hop commune and a large number of local people.

Tam Hop is a remote border commune, adjacent to Laos, with a total natural land area of over 23 thousand hectares. The whole commune has 531 households, 2,611 people, the population is arranged in 5 villages with 5 ethnic groups living together, including Thai, Mong, Tay Poong, Kho Mu and Kinh.

The commune has only met 9/19 criteria for new rural construction. People's living standards are still low and uneven, and still depend on agricultural production. At this time, the whole commune has 235 poor households (accounting for 44.26%), 81 near-poor households (accounting for 15.25%).

The activities of examining, providing free medicine and giving gifts to the people of Tam Hop commune are part of the Military - Civilian Medical Cooperation Program between the Border Guard Command and the Health Department of Nghe An province. This is a series of activities with profound humanitarian significance; aiming to promote the combined strength of both the health sector and the border guard military medicine in taking care of the health of people in border areas, remote and isolated areas.

Through medical examination, some common diseases can be promptly detected and treated; disease prevention measures and some primary health care measures can be disseminated to the people.

In addition, it will further strengthen the solidarity between the military and the people, so that the combined military-civilian medical work will develop more and more; actively contribute to the mass mobilization work in the area; arouse the trust of people in border areas in the local government and health care as well as in the border guards.

At the program, medical staff of Nghe An health sector and military medical staff of Nghe An Border Guard organized medical examinations and provided free medicine to nearly 300 people and soldiers. The focus was on medical examinations and medicine for the elderly, children, policy beneficiaries... in Tam Hop commune.

On this occasion, Nghe An Department of Health and Nghe An Border Guard Command also organized gift giving to policy families and students with difficult circumstances who have achieved high academic achievements, and people with serious illnesses who are being treated.
