Free summer classes in Hung Tien
(Baonghean) - For many years now, every summer vacation, the Teachers' Association of Hung Tien commune, Hung Nguyen district has been busy organizing free summer classes for students in the commune.
These days, while students are focusing on their semester exams, teachers in Hung Tien commune are also preparing for free summer classes.
At the house of Mr. Hoang Dang Sam - Chairman of the Commune Teachers' Association, there were a number of members and the Chairman of the Commune Fatherland Front Committee meeting to discuss the plan. Talking, Mr. Sam enthusiastically said: The Commune Teachers' Association was established in November 2008, and has so far gathered 26 members, who are retired people working in the education sector. Based on volunteerism and the desire to continue contributing to the education of local children who are currently suffering from many disadvantages, the Association has thought of a way to open free classes in the summer months.
Hung Tien Commune Teachers' Association discussed the organization planfree summer school 2012
In 2010, the Association proactively proposed to the Party Committee, the Fatherland Front Committee and the People's Committee of the commune to implement the above idea. The target students are from grade 1 to grade 4, with special priority given to those with weak academic performance, to review the curriculum knowledge of the old class, the study time is within 1 month, 2 sessions per week.
With partial financial support from the local government, the schools created the best conditions for classrooms. In the summer of 2010, the Association organized 3 classes with 70 students from grade 1 to grade 4. Thanks to the enthusiasm and experience of the former teachers, the children were able to grasp basic knowledge. Parents also considered these classes meaningful, not only helping their children grasp knowledge, but also creating a healthy and useful playground during the summer. Entering the summer of 2011, the number of students registered for free study by parents reached 120, of which 36 were sent from other communes.
Mr. Sam said: This summer, in addition to students from grades 1 to 4, the Association also opened a class for students from grades 9 to 10. Before the summer break, the Association had to meet carefully to arrange suitable class for its members.
Some parents excitedly said: With the teachers organizing summer classes for the children, we are very happy and less worried when entering the summer. Because during the summer vacation, the children do not have a useful playground, and their parents have to go to work, so there is no one to supervise, which can easily lead to unfortunate risks. The teachers not only impart knowledge to their children but also teach them many good things and the right things in life. Therefore, we parents are very grateful for the Commune Teachers' Association organizing free summer classes for the children.
Without any selfish motive or calculation of gains or losses, the teachers of Hung Tien commune devote all their strength, intelligence and experience to the cause of educating the young generation during the summer vacation. This is a good way of doing things that should be maintained and widely replicated in other localities.
