Cheating and selling both biological children and grandchildren

November 1, 2014 11:11

(Baonghean.vn) - On November 1, Mon Son Border Guard Station (Nghe An Border Guard) said: the unit is verifying, investigating, and clarifying an act of human trafficking that can be said to be "unprecedented": 1 subject has committed the act of defrauding and selling both his own child and his own grandchild.

Previously, on October 24, Mon Son Border Guard Station received a petition from Mr. Vi Van Su, born in 1989, residing in Yen Thanh village, Luc Da commune, Mon Son district, Nghe An, accusing Ms. Vi Thi Van, born in 1971, from Lang Yen village, Mon Son commune, Con Cuong district, of human trafficking (Ms. Van is currently married and residing in China).

Specifically: on September 7, 2014, Ms. Vi Thi Van, after getting married in China, returned to Vietnam to trick her own child, Lo Thi Thanh, born in 1993 (Mr. Su's wife) and granddaughter, Vi Thi Thuy An, born in 2012, into fleeing to China with the intention of selling them. Mr. Su called Ms. Van many times to ask to bring his wife and child back to Vietnam, but Ms. Van asked Mr. Su to give her 30 million VND in order to let his wife and child return to Vietnam. During the time Ms. Thanh was in China, Ms. Van forced Ms. Thanh to marry a Chinese man, but Ms. Thanh did not accept and asked to return to her hometown. After failing to force her to do as she wanted, on October 23, Ms. Van let Ms. Thanh and her child return to Vietnam through Mong Cai border gate, Quang Ninh province. Mr. Su went to Mong Cai, Quang Ninh to pick up the mother and child and paid the Chinese bus company 4 million VND.

Through the above incident, it can be affirmed that: currently, the situation of human trafficking is having extremely complicated developments, with unpredictable changes. People, especially those in remote, mountainous areas, lacking information and limited knowledge, are easily deceived and trapped by human traffickers.

Currently, Mon Son Border Guard Station, the Anti-Human Trafficking Department (Nghe An Border Guard) is actively coordinating with relevant levels, sectors, and local authorities to clarify the case; at the same time, propagandize to the masses in the area to be extremely vigilant against the tricks of human trafficking criminals. When seeing suspicious signs, promptly notify the authorities for timely prevention and handling.
