Fraudulently appropriated 600 million VND in charity
Tran Van Manh, 25 years old, defrauded and appropriated 600 million VND by calling for charitable donations on social networks.
On October 31, Hai Phong City Police said that Tran Van Manh, residing in Duong Kinh District, had just been prosecuted and temporarily detained by the Criminal Police Department in coordination with Department 7 - Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention (Ministry of Public Security) to investigate the act of appropriating property through calling for help.charity.

Investigators allege that since May 2020, Manh created a Facebook page called "Community Charity Fund", took information and images of people in especially difficult circumstances from reputable electronic newspapers, then edited and integrated his personal account to call for donations from benefactors.
By the above tricks, Manh appropriated more than 600 million VND, but did not carry out any charitable activities as committed.
At the end of October 2021, Manh was arrested by the police. The case is being investigated by Hai Phong City Police.
