Armed forces help people overcome the consequences of storm No. 10
(Baonghean.vn) -Faced with the complicated developments of storm No. 10, the Military Region 4 Command has directed agencies, units, and localities to urgently organize forces and means to deal with the storm.
The Military Region Command established a forward command post in Quang Tri. By 2:00 p.m. on September 30, the command post had moved to Quang Binh; established 3 working groups to inspect, urge, and direct units and localities to cope with the storm. The 80th Information Brigade organized a mobile information station in Quang Binh, including 1 Vi Sat vehicle and 1 rescue vehicle to ensure information in command and operation of PCBL-TKCN.
Before storm No. 10 made landfall, the entire Military Region mobilized more than 160,000 local troops, militia and self-defense forces, and local forces to take measures to cope with storm No. 10. The main force of the Military Region with more than 8,000 officers and soldiers was ready to participate in search and rescue, helping people overcome the situation in all directions according to the requests of the localities. The Military Commands of Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Thua Thien Hue provinces mobilized 2,375 regular troops, 4,615 militia and self-defense forces, 63 cars, 38 boats... to participate in helping people reinforce their houses, anchor boats, and organize the evacuation of 20,470 households with 80,772 people in key and dangerous areas to safety.
In the evening and night of October 1, the Nghe An Military Command mobilized 204 officers and soldiers, 9 motorboats, the 414th Engineering Brigade dispatched nearly 50 officers and soldiers and 4 motorboats along with 730 militia and self-defense forces to evacuate 760 households in Hoang Mai town that were deeply flooded due to heavy rain combined with flood discharge at Vuc Mau lake and to search for missing victims swept away by floodwaters.

After the storm passed, the Military Region Command organized 3 working groups to inspect and direct units and provincial Military Commands to continue mobilizing forces to coordinate with local forces to quickly help people evacuate their homes to avoid the storm, re-roof houses, build temporary houses for families whose houses collapsed to ensure that people do not go hungry or cold after the storm; urgently clear up fallen trees, overcome landslides to ensure traffic, electricity and water; repair medical stations and schools to promptly take care of people's health and children to go to school early... Division 968 has dispatched 300 officers and soldiers to help people in Cam Lo district overcome the consequences after the storm.
On the morning of October 2, the Military Region organized a working delegation led by Colonel Nguyen Duc Hoa, Deputy Chief of Staff, to visit and encourage a number of families that suffered heavy damage caused by the storm in Quang Binh and support each family with dead or missing people with 5 million VND. According to the plan, the Military Region will continue to visit, encourage and support families with dead or missing people caused by storm No. 10 in the Military Region in the coming days. At the same time, the Military Region Command has directed agencies and units to review and allow officers, military personnel, and civil servants whose families suffered damage caused by the storm to take 7 days of special leave to overcome the consequences.
