(Baonghean.vn) - Within the framework of the Sen Village Festival, on the evening of May 17 at the Nghe An Province Cultural Information Center, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with the Nghe An Provincial People's Committee to organize the Opening Ceremony of the 2015 Central Ethnic Culture Festival.
Attending the opening ceremony were Mr. Hoang Duc Hau - Director of the Department of Ethnic Culture, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism; along with delegates representing the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of 8 provinces and cities in the Central region and nearly 350 artisans and extras.

The Central Ethnic Culture Festival takes place in the space of the Sen Village Festival on the historic May days in Uncle Ho's homeland. This is also an opportunity for the Central ethnic people to express their gratitude and steadfast faith in President Ho Chi Minh, the beloved Father of the nation, a shining example of revolutionary morality for generations of Lac and Hong descendants.

This Cultural Festival gathered nearly 350 folk artists and mass actors from 8 provinces, including Thanh Hoa, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh, Binh Thuan and the host Nghe An. The opening night was marked by the excitement, richness and diversity of the performances of the groups. These were the stream and Nhuon melodies, the sounds of the Khen and Pi of the Thai, Mong and Kho Mu ethnic groups from Nghe An province; or the sounds of the gongs and drums of the Co ethnic group from Quang Ngai province; the audience also experienced the epic singing and dancing performances through the Poon Pong melodies of the Muong ethnic group from Thanh Hoa...

Previously, on the morning of May 17, with the theme "Central ethnic groups unite - preserve and promote national cultural identity - contribute to the sustainable development of the country", the Cultural Festival took place with many unique cultural, sports, folk songs, folk dances and folk games. In addition, the space of the ethnic festival was also opened by programs such as: displaying and exhibiting 500 paintings, photos and artifacts introducing the rich cultural identity, life, spiritual activities, customs and practices of the Central ethnic groups. This is an extremely meaningful gift to beloved Uncle Ho on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of his birth.
