"Huge" salary for senior staff in the third quarter is up to 225 million VND
In the third quarter, the highest salary for mid- and senior-level HR positions belonged to the director of a foreign corporation in the healthcare sector at VND225 million/month. All five positions with the highest salaries were in Ho Chi Minh City, including two positions in the healthcare sector.
This is the information given in the report on the demand for senior personnel recruitment in the Vietnamese market in the third quarter that the senior personnel recruitment company Navigos Search just announced today, October 6.

Manufacturing leads recruitment demand
Regarding recruitment needs in the third quarter, the manufacturing industry has the highest demand for mid-level and senior personnel, accounting for 33% of the total recruitment needs. Recruitment needs in the manufacturing industry mainly come from the industrial production, electrical-electronics and textile sectors.
Although demand for manufacturing jobs remains relatively high, some sectors have shown signs of slowing down. In the electronics manufacturing sector, there is no longer a surge in hiring of engineers for smartphone manufacturing as in the previous two quarters.
On the other hand, in the energy sector such as hydropower and thermal power, the demand for recruiting senior personnel is increasing due to the increasing number of thermal power projects for foreign investors being implemented. However, recruitment in this sector is currently facing difficulties due to the lack of senior personnel in this sector.
The second largest industry in terms of demand for mid-level and senior level personnel is the retail-consumer goods industry with 16%. While the demand for senior level personnel in these industries seems to be slowing down, the demand for mid-level personnel is very strong.
Ranked third in terms of recruitment demand for middle and senior level personnel with 13%. Because the fiscal year of foreign auditing companies begins in July every year, the recruitment demand in this field also increases compared to other quarters of the year.
Information technology still lacks human resources
Although it only accounts for 10% and ranks fourth in recruitment demand according to Navigos Search data, this is a field with many new factors in development.
In addition to Vietnam being the world’s number one outsourcing market in 2015, according to a report by real estate consultancy Cushman & Wakefield, foreign companies developing mobile software and online games are operating strongly in Vietnam. That leads to a huge demand for recruiting PHP programming engineers.
However, recruiting this team of programming engineers is not easy because the market is scarce, partly because the supply is not abundant, partly because of preferential policies in companies with PHP programming engineers working very well, making this team not have the need to find new jobs.
Another reason why the IT recruitment sector is becoming “hotter” is because foreign companies providing Data Center services investing in Vietnam are increasing rapidly.
