Notes when taking the exam for the police and military

Many students ask whether it is difficult to take the entrance exam to police and military schools. Dr. Le Cong Toan, the delegation's consultant and Vice Principal of Da Nang University of Architecture, provided information: Candidates applying for the university entrance exam in the police sector must pass the preliminary selection according to the regulations of the Ministry of Public Security. Candidates do not submit their application according to the Ministry of Education and Training's form through the Department of Education and Training like candidates applying for civil universities and colleges, but must register for the preliminary selection at the police admissions board of the provinces and centrally-run cities where the candidates register their permanent residence. Schools in this sector usually only recruit 10% of the total quota of female candidates. In particular, ethnic minority students are given priority in terms of height (reduced by 2 cm) and weight (reduced by 3 kg) compared to other candidates. The application submission period is from March 1 to April 15.
For the military sector, the Ministry of National Defense also issued many new regulations this year, including that military schools will not accept candidates with tattoos. Candidates' applications for the military sector will also be submitted to the district and town military command. The preliminary selection and registration period in localities will be from March 10 to April 15.
If I get accepted to one school, can I study at another?
Many students are confused by the latest information about admission. Dr. Tran Dinh Khoi Quoc, Deputy Head of Training Department of Da Nang University, advised: "Candidates whose university and college entrance exam scores do not pass their first choice, but have scores higher than or equal to the minimum score, will be granted 2 certificates of scores to register for admission at universities and colleges". Dr. Quoc also noted that in 2012, universities and colleges will consider admission until they have met their enrollment quota. Therefore, candidates must follow information on mass media and on the websites of universities and colleges to find out the quota.
A student from Dak Rong High School asked: "If I pass the university entrance exam, can I continue to apply to another school?". Master Co Tan Anh Vu, Head of Training Department of Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport, emphasized: "Admitted candidates only receive an admission notice, not a score notice. However, if these candidates wish to study at a local college in the same exam group and in the recruitment area, they can submit an application, clearly stating their wishes and circumstances, along with the admission notice, to the college they wish to study at for the school to consider."
