Why the Russian President does not trust his French counterpart
(Baonghean.vn) - Russian President Vladimir Putin does not trust his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron because his policies go against NATO's declaration of 'brain death', writes Boulevard Voltaire columnist Nicolas Gauthier.

According to him, the French President should act as a mediator to end the conflict in Ukraine.
“But this requires a worthy diplomatic level. Macron is far from reaching that level,” Gauthier said. Instead, the journalist said, President Macron provided military aid to Kiev, which did not contribute to resolving the situation.
"Moreover, having diagnosed 'NATO brain death', he now accepts all the decisions of this organization under the leadership of the United States. Some people believe that Macron still tries to maintain relations with Putin, which adds to his prestige. But will the Russian leader listen to the voice of France? That is the big question," the article said.
Earlier, President Macron declared that Russia's special military campaign in Ukraine had created an 'electric shock' effect on NATO, bringing the alliance from 'brain death' back to a state of strategic decisiveness.
