The 2015 Wimbledon junior men's doubles championship helped Hoang Nam and his teammates go straight to the first round of the professional doubles tournament next year.

Ly Hoang Nam made history in Vietnamese tennis as the first tennis player to win a Grand Slam (Junior level) on July 12. This championship also helped Nam and Sumit Nagal (India) to be granted a special entry into the first round of the men's doubles at Wimbledon next year. Thus, the 18-year-old tennis player created a new milestone: the first Vietnamese tennis player to participate in a Grand Slam tournament, at the professional level.

Normally, to qualify for a Grand Slam at the professional level, a tennis player must be ranked at or above 150 in the world. Ly Hoang Nam is currently ranked 1276 (singles) and 1599 (doubles) on the ATP rankings. Without the wildcard ticket from winning the junior tournament, it is unknown when Hoang Nam will be present at one of the four prestigious Grand Slam tournaments of tennis.

The Wimbledon junior title is an encouragement for Hoang Nam on the long road ahead. Next year, when he turns 19, Nam will no longer be able to compete at the junior level. The Tay Ninh native will start playing professionally. The experiences from the Australian Open, Roland Garros, Wimbledon and the upcoming US Open will help Hoang Nam quickly integrate into the world of tennis.

In recent years, Hoang Nam has continuously achieved success, accumulated experience and points to rank 13th in the ITF at the youth level. He has consecutively won the youth championship in Malaysia and India, in both men's singles and doubles.

Hoang Nam also tried his hand at professional level in Future tournaments and stopped at the quarterfinals in Thailand and Indonesia. In March, the Tay Ninh native also helped the Vietnamese tennis team advance to Group II of the Davis Cup in the Asia-Pacific region.

At the junior Grand Slam level, Hoang Nam's performance gradually improved. He reached the second round of the Australian Open, the third round of Roland Garros and won the men's doubles at Wimbledon. In the singles, Hoang Nam lost in the first round to Niklas-Salminen, who reached the junior semifinals at Wimbledon this year.
