Ly Hoang Nam reverses the flow to enter the official round of the Egypt tournament

Defeating Petersen Bjoern after three sets in the third qualifying round, Vietnam's number one tennis player won the right to officially compete in the men's singles event of the F26 Men Futures professional tournament.

Hoang Nam won with the scores of 6-7 (5-7), 6-0, 6-4. This result was somewhat similar to his match in the second qualifying round against Christian Felline (Italy). The Vietnamese player was highly rated but lost the first set, before rising up and easily winning the rest of the match.

In the match with Bjoern, Hoang Nam showed a big improvement in his serving. He scored 10 aces - two more than his opponent, only made three double faults - one third of Bjoern's number, and was better in the first serve ace index (83%), first serve success (69%)...

In this match, the Vietnamese player also took advantage of five out of nine break opportunities (compared to two out of four break opportunities of his opponent), had a streak of 13 points and six consecutive wins.

Hoang Nam’s next opponent, in the first round of the tournament’s official competition, is Tomas Papik from the Czech Republic. This tennis player born in 1994 is currently ranked 1070th in the world and at one point climbed to 948th in the ATP rankings.

Hoang Nam is currently ranked 1,312 ATP.

The match takes place on August 12 (Hanoi time).
