Vietnam's number one young tennis player significantly improved his position on the International Tennis Federation (ITF) young tennis player rankings.

Thanks to continuously creating surprises when reaching the final of the recent Thai youth tournament, Hoang Nam received an additional 100 cumulative points, raising the 1997-born tennis player's score to 411.88, increasing 29 places on the ITF youth rankings.

With that, the young Vietnamese tennis player returned to the 49th position in the world for the second time (according to the ITF update on March 9), since the first time in March 2014.

From the current results, as long as Hoang Nam plays consistently and increases his current score, the Tay Ninh player can completely win an official spot to participate in the junior tournament of the second Grand Slam of the year - Roland Garros.

Previously, at the Australian Open junior tournament in January, Hoang Nam excelled in defeating Corentin Moutet - a young French tennis player ranked by ATP - to create a historic victory for Vietnamese tennis at a Grand Slam.

With what he has shown, Hoang Nam is expected to reap more achievements in the coming time, especially at the Roland Garros youth tournament starting next May.
