Ly Hoang Nam closes in on Vietnam Men's Futures championship - Becamex IDC
The home player has a great chance to win the championship in the last tournament held at home this year when reaching the final of an event.
In the doubles event of Vietnam F9 Futures, Hoang Nam did not play with his familiar teammate Nguyen Hoang Thien, but instead paired with Ti Chen, a Taiwanese player. Ti Chen is 33 years old, currently ranked 258th in the ATP rankings, and is the number one seed in the singles event. Combining with a highly ranked, experienced player helped Hoang Nam have easy victories to reach the semi-finals.
After passing the first round, Hoang Nam - Ti Chen continued to beat Linh Giang - Cong Tien 2-0 in the quarterfinals. In the semifinals on the afternoon of November 3, this number one seeded pair easily defeated the third seeded Polish pair Karol Drzewiecki - Maciej Smola 2-0 (6-1, 6-3). In the final, Hoang Nam - Ti Chen will compete for the championship with the second seeded pair Moon Ju Hae - Noo Sang Woo (Korea).

In the men's singles, Ly Hoang Nam also made it to the quarterfinals. In the second round match against Trinh Linh Giang, who was far inferior in rank and class, Hoang Nam only needed more than an hour to win 2-0 (6-2, 6-1).
In the quarterfinals, the Binh Duong player will meet Enzo Couacaud. This French player is currently 85 places below Hoang Nam (714 compared to 629), but was ranked 206th in 2015. Therefore, this is considered a big challenge for Hoang Nam.
