In the first round, the eighth seeded duo defeated Alex De Minaur - Yosuke Watanuki with a score of 6-4, 7-5. In the second round yesterday, July 9, they continued to enjoy the joy of victory, but not as easily as before.
In set one, after a 3-3 draw, Hoang Nam - Nagal was careless and lost their serve game, before losing 3-6. However, in set two, Hoang Nam - Nagal played more smoothly, often leading Gray - Moore to win 6-4.
The deciding set was again a tug-of-war, but this time Hoang Nam and Nagal took full advantage of their opportunities and created a turning point by winning game 7, their opponent's serve game. Thanks to that, they went straight to a 6-4 victory, and won a ticket to the quarterfinals to meet the Japanese pair Yusuke Takahashi and Jumpei Yamasaki.
In 2015, Hoang Nam won the doubles championship twice in junior tournaments. However, this was the first time he reached the quarterfinals of a Grand Slam tournament.
