Ly Qui Khanh burst into tears when Lan Khue's dress won the 'World Designer' award.

The dress featuring the image of a blazing fire, designed by a Vietnamese designer, was honored at the Miss World 2015 competition.

The World Designer Award was announced during the Miss World 2015 final on the evening of December 19th in China. The dress worn by Vietnam's representative, Lan Khuê, in the fashion competition won the award.

Designer Ly Qui Khanh said he burst into tears upon hearing the good news. This is the first time he has designed an outfit for Vietnam's representative at Miss World.

Ly Qui Khanh created this dress in three weeks. He chose yellow and dark red to highlight the idea of ​​a blazing fire. "I hope the Vietnamese representative will shine brightly like a flame in the Miss World 2015 competition. Through this outfit, I want to give the beauty queen more confidence," he said.

The dress is made of Vietnamese silk. The designer stiffened the fabric and then dyed it with a Western-style gradient. He said that the dress doesn't look particularly special at first glance, but that's precisely the message he wanted to convey. He predicted that the minimalist design would make the Vietnamese representative stand out among the many elaborate designs that other contestants from different countries chose to showcase.

Besides the winning dress, Ly Qui Khanh also designed Lan Khue's outfit for the final night. This outfit was inspired by the beauty of a precious gem, sparkling with emerald green on a silver-toned fabric. The designer expressed his desire for Lan Khue to shine in the final as brightly as the dress.

The dress that Lan Khuê wore in the Miss World final was also designed by Lý Quí Khánh.

The World Designer Award is a special award at the annual Miss World pageant. Contestants showcase dresses by designers from their respective countries. The organizers select a top 10 and vote for the best design before the final night. In 2014, this award was given to the contestant from India.
