Thus, Van Gaal will be the first foreign coach (outside the UK) of the Red Devils of Manchester. He will start his work at Old Trafford since the 2014 World Cup. Following the Dutch coach are two assistants Frans Hoek and Marcel Bout. Interim coach Ryan Giggs of MU will also be on the assistant list.
Van Gaal will be United's long-term replacement, after they sacked coach David Moyes. The Dutch strategist has signed a three-year contract with the former Premier League champions.
"To be able to work as coach of Manchester United, the biggest club in the world, makes me very proud," Van Gaal said. "This club has big ambitions, I have big ambitions too. Together I guarantee we will make history."

With the appointment of Van Gaal, the Glazers are also planning to financially support this coach in the transfer market this summer. Van Gaal's goal of rebuilding MU is to target names such as center-back Mats Hummels, midfielders Marco Reus and Toni Kroos.
Van Gaal has never managed an English club in his illustrious career. Apart from Barca, the famously hot-tempered coach has managed Ajax, AZ Alkmaar and Bayern Munich, along with two spells in charge of the Dutch national team.
