Ms. Y. said that she and Hao Thien met each other through the social network Facebook. After talking for a while, knowing that HPY's family situation was very difficult, he was a farmer and the eldest child in the family, Y. wanted to find a job to improve his income, Hao Thien suggested that Y. work as an employee at a bar in Mong Cai with an income of 35-40 million VND/month. Gullibly believing in the attractive salary, Y. accepted Hao Thien's offer and took a bus from home to Mong Cai city to meet him.

Hao Thien handed Y. over to two Chinese men who worked as bodyguards and looked after prostitutes in China. As an ethnic girl, it was her first time in Mong Cai, so when the two men took her to Guangzhou, China, Y. did not know. They took her to a large house, tortured, beat her, threatened her mentally and forced her to "entertain customers" at prostitution establishments.
Her life fell into hell, she had no time to think about why she was tricked here. Around the beginning of August 2018, Y. took advantage of a loophole and escaped. After many days of running away, she returned to Mong Cai. On August 3, 2018, Y. saw Hao Thien near Mong Cai bus station so she went to Mong Cai City Police to report. After receiving the report, Mong Cai City Police summoned Hao Thien to the police station to work.
Upon verification, Hao Thien confessed that his real name is Nguyen Thanh Tuyen (22 years old, residing in village 8, Quang Long commune, Hai Ha district, Quang Ninh province). Tuyen is acquainted with a Chinese national who owns several prostitution establishments in China named A Sin. A Sin and Tuyen discussed and agreed to trick Vietnamese women into going to China to work at these prostitution establishments.
A Sin instructed Tuyen to find out about gullible Vietnamese women to send to China. After successfully carrying out the task, Tuyen would receive a “commission” from A Sin. Previously, Tuyen had successfully tricked and sold 3 Vietnamese women to China.
HPY’s case is the latest in a series of human trafficking cases discovered by Mong Cai City Police in recent times, raising public concerns about the rampant human trafficking crimes. Many young girls like Y have become victims of fraud and trafficking to China to work as prostitutes.
Recently, Mong Cai City Police have discovered 5 cases of human trafficking to China with 9 victims. These victims are all young women aged 18-29, from many provinces such as Lao Cai, Vinh Long, An Giang, Kien Giang, Ca Mau... who are looking for high-paying jobs, gullible, so they were tricked and sold by the subjects.
Captain Le Anh Quan - Head of the Criminal Police Team, Mong Cai City Police said: “Human trafficking crimes operate in a very sophisticated manner. Along with traditional methods, recently, the subjects have thoroughly exploited the Internet and social networks, thereby building acquaintances, carefully studying the family background and psychology of the victims. They pay special attention to young women who want to go to China to find work or get married, to propose to them, to do procedures to legally bring people to China with passports, and only sell the victims when they arrive in mainland China.”
