(Baonghean) -To help orphaned students get closer, help each other in studying as well as in life, help them overcome their inferiority complex, and integrate into the community, Vinh University established the “Vinh School Shelter” Club. After 4 years of operation, the Club has gathered 26 students in the same situation.

When entering the school, the group of orphaned students in the "Vinh School Shelter" Club are all arranged free accommodation and given the opportunity to work part-time to earn money for their studies. Sharing their difficulties, the Board of Directors of Vinh University provided funds for the Club to buy a photocopier and set aside a small room on campus for orphaned students to open a photocopying location. From this source of income, the Club provides monthly support for the students' studies and books. "There are 26 orphaned students, each year there are over 50 death anniversaries of their parents. On each occasion, we send people to their hometowns to burn incense for their families!", said Mr. Le Cong Duc - Club Director.

During the 2012 university entrance exam season, orphaned students raised money and cooked 3,000 free meals for candidates at the Vinh exam cluster...

Sympathizing and sharing with the situation of the orphaned students at Vinh University, many organizations and individuals have supported them with their study expenses. For 3 consecutive years (from 2010 to present), Bac A Commercial Joint Stock Bank has donated 283 million VND, providing each orphaned student with 300,000 VND per month; Nghe Land Fund (Vinh City) has supported 7 students with the most difficult circumstances, providing each student with 300,000 VND per month from enrollment to graduation; Nam Yang Ju City Business Association (Korea) donated 10 bicycles to the club; Hanoi Institute of Technology Joint Stock Company has given each student an online English learning card...

Under the “Warm Roof of Vinh School”, orphaned students are sheltered and given the strength to overcome difficulties. “My parents died early and I had no one to rely on. At this club, I have truly found my home,” confided Ngo Thi Khuyen (born in 1992) - a student of the Faculty of Political Law.
