Mentioning the place name Truong Bon revives in each of us unforgettable memories of a time of fierce bombs and bullets, of the fiery years in the glorious resistance war against the US to save the country of our people. Truong Bon is an important traffic hub, connecting the main roads from the great rear in the North to support human and material resources to the great front line in the South; becoming the focus of fierce and destructive attacks by the enemy. Despite the enemy's bombs and bullets, our army and people still hold on day and night, fight steadfastly with the will that the heart can stop beating but the road cannot be blocked, live by clinging to the bridge, clinging to the road, die steadfastly and bravely, all for the beloved South...

In particular, the heroic feat and sacrifice of 13 young volunteers of the steel squad of the 317th Youth Volunteer Company on October 31, 1968, when there were only a few hours left before the US stopped bombing the North. They devoted their youth and their lives to keeping the supply route to the front line unblocked, contributing to the victory of our army and people on the battlefields, to the victory of the cause of liberating the South and unifying the Fatherland. Their sacrifices created an immortal Truong Bon, a legend of the indomitable will, resilience, and revolutionary heroism of our army and people in the great resistance war of the 20th century...

Now, the war has gone far away, life has revived on the coordinates of the fierce fire and bombs of the past, but the examples of chivalry, the noble sacrifices of the heroic martyrs are forever engraved in the hearts of every Vietnamese person, in the history of the Vietnamese nation; forever a source of pride, a great source of encouragement for generations of Vietnamese people today and tomorrow, in the work of building the country, protecting the independence, sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity of the Fatherland.

...Today, the inauguration of Truong Bon National Historical Site, we demonstrate the morality of "When drinking water, remember its source", express our gratitude and deep gratitude to the heroic martyrs who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland. At the same time, to preserve and conserve a historical site for future generations; so that Truong Bon will forever be a red address to educate the patriotic, indomitable, and resilient traditions of generations of fathers and brothers to generations of children; so that our people and our country will forever exist and develop brilliantly. I hope that the Party Committee, the government and the people of Nghe An province, with all their responsibilities and gratitude to the previous generations, as well as their responsibilities to future generations, will do a good job of managing, preserving and promoting the value of the Truong Bon Historical Site, contributing to educating the revolutionary traditions of the Party and our nation, fostering patriotism for the younger generation to follow in the footsteps of the previous generations, joining hands and hearts in the cause of building and defending the homeland and the country. We believe that, with the tradition of the heroic Soviet homeland, with dynamism and creativity, the Party Committee and the people of Nghe An will continue to create breakthrough developments, building the province into a political, economic and cultural center of the North Central region as set out in the spirit of Resolution No. 26 of the Politburo, worthy of the homeland of the great President Ho Chi Minh, worthy of the trust and love of the whole country...
