Forever worthy of the name Uncle Ho's soldiers

(Baonghean.vn) 67 years ago, on December 22, 1944, implementing President Ho Chi Minh's Directive, the Vietnam Propaganda Liberation Army, one of the predecessor organizations of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA), was established. On October 17, 1989, in response to the wishes of the people of the whole country, the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee (term VI) decided to take the founding day of the VPA, December 22, as the National Defense Day.

While building and fighting, over the past 67 years, the Vietnam People's Army has rapidly matured in all aspects, together with the people of the whole country, overcoming many difficulties, hardships, and sacrifices, fighting tenaciously, achieving glorious feats in the resistance wars, liberating the nation, unifying the country, leading the whole country to socialism, defeating the wars of aggression of hostile forces, and firmly protecting the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

67 years of fighting and building under the glorious flag of the Party and beloved Uncle Ho, the Vietnam People's Army has fulfilled its mission, being the core force in the movement of the whole people to fight the enemy, liberate the nation, protect the Fatherland and fulfill international obligations. Inheriting the indomitable and indomitable tradition of the nation and homeland, generations of cadres and soldiers of the Vietnam People's Army and Nghe An Armed Forces have continuously promoted their good revolutionary nature, built a very glorious tradition of "Loyalty to the country, filial piety to the people" and were honored by the people as "Uncle Ho's soldiers".

Today, our people's cause of building and defending the Fatherland has entered a new period, a period of promoting national industrialization and modernization, striving for the goal of "A rich people, a strong country, a democratic, equitable and civilized society". The world situation is complicated and unpredictable. For our country, hostile forces are still plotting to pursue the strategy of "Peaceful evolution - violent overthrow", promoting "self-evolution" by many sophisticated and insidious tricks to eliminate the leadership role of the Party and eliminate socialism in our country.

The above situation has posed new requirements for the local military and defense tasks. Therefore, the Nghe An Provincial Armed Forces need to constantly improve the overall quality and combat strength, carry out well the work of building a strong local armed force in terms of politics and organization; strengthen education and training for all cadres and soldiers on the viewpoints, guidelines, policies of the Party and policies and laws of the State; raise awareness of Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Thought. The armed forces always raise the spirit of revolutionary vigilance, resolutely fight against wrong viewpoints, declining confidence, ambiguity, opportunistic and pragmatic lifestyles; improve the leadership capacity and combat strength of Party organizations at all levels, build a strong Party organization associated with building a strong and comprehensive agency and unit; build a contingent of cadres, Party members, and cadres at all levels with moral qualities and professional capacity to meet the requirements of political tasks. The standing force is built in the direction of "Revolutionary, regular, elite and gradually modern"; the militia and self-defense force is "Strong and widespread" and the reserve force is "Large in number and high in quality", contributing to building an increasingly solid national defense posture and people's security posture.

Promoting the tradition of the heroic Vietnam People's Army and the National Defense Day, our army in general and Nghe An Armed Forces in particular should promote the tradition of Uncle Ho's soldiers in Uncle Ho's homeland, striving to excellently complete assigned tasks.
