Recently, a "Request to stop competing with reason" sent by Mai Ngo to the Organizing Committee of the contest "I am Miss Universe Vietnam 2017" appeared online. In that 5-page petition, Mai Ngo presented very specifically her frustrations during the filming of the contest.

In an interview, Mai Ngo emphasized that the contest itself "killed" her reputation. Mai Ngo added that during the contest, she was constantly "made difficult" by the organizers and host Pham Huong.

Mai Ngo burst into tears when talking about the frustrations of participating in the Miss Universe contest.

During the challenge of carrying books on her head and walking the catwalk, Mai Ngo said she asked Pham Huong and Vo Hoang Yen for permission to go out to practice, but for some reason, 20 minutes later, Miss Universe Vietnam 2015 suddenly "reversed" and questioned her. The situation became more tense and Mai Ngo felt "oppressed" because the Organizing Committee had agreed to allow her to go out for a period of time because of a previously signed work contract. However, after leaving, host Pham Huong suddenly got angry, showing a "big sister" attitude, insisting on eliminating Mai Ngo.

Later, Vo Hoang Yen confirmed that Mai Ngo had indeed asked for permission to go out to practice. But Mai Ngo chose to practice behind the judges - the make-up area for the contestants. This area was completely out of the control of Vo Hoang Yen and Pham Huong.

Vo Hoang Yen thinks that Pham Huong's reaction to Mai Ngo's attitude is completely understandable.

Vo Hoang Yen also did not know why Mai Ngo left the scene without permission, only heard rumors that the contestant had to attend the event. This made Pham Huong understandably upset.
