Facing an opponent weaker in every aspect, Coach ManuelPellegriniThere were some adjustments in City's starting lineup when they left on the bench key players such as David Silva, Kompany, Joe Hart... However, the home team still created a completely dominant game compared to their opponents in the lower division.
In the first half, City held the ball up to 76% but they could not concretize dangerous attacking situations into goals. It was not until the 45th minute, in a moment of distraction from the Blackburn defense, that the blue team from Manchester broke the deadlock. From a move on the right wing, Fernandinho received a pass from Navas and crossed inside for Negredo to jump high and head in to open the score for City.
The tight defense was broken, Blackburn had no choice but to push up the formation to find an equalizer. However, they were hit by a counterattack from the home team. When the second half had only passed 2 minutes,Negredoonce again played the hero with a goal to make it 2-0 after a perfect pass from Kolarov.
Blackburn lost all their spirit after this second "cold shower" and that was the basis for Man City to continue to torment their opponents with 3 more goals with a double from Dzeko (67', 79') and in between was a goal from the striker who had just returned from injury, Kun Aguero (73').
With a 5-0 win, Man City have qualified for the fourth round of the FA Cup. City’s next opponent is the Championship team – Watford.
