Wanted man still pretends to flirt with women, defrauds and appropriates property

On April 29, Hoang Mai Town Police said that the unit had just initiated a case, prosecuted the accused, and issued a 3-month detention order for Bui Dinh Hung (28 years old, residing in Hamlet 4, Eakpam Commune, CuMgar District, Dak Lak Province) to continue investigating the act of "Fraudulent appropriation of property".

Previously, in early April 2018, the Investigation Police Agency of Hoang Mai Town Police received a complaint from Ms. Nguyen Thi H. (28 years old, residing in Quynh Phuong Ward, Hoang Mai Town) about being scammed by a subject named Hoang with an unknown address, who took a motorbike and 5 million VND in cash, total value of about 30 million VND.

During the investigation, verification and reporting of Ms. H., Hoang Mai City Police discovered a very sophisticated method of fraud. Each victim and subject used a junk SIM card to access Zalo to make friends and flirt.

Seeing that the “prey” trusted him, the subject arranged a meeting and pretended to forget to install something, then borrowed money, borrowed a motorbike and escaped. After tricking the victim, the subject threw away the SIM card, replaced it with another one and continued to “hunt” for new prey.

Through professional measures, the Investigation Police Agency determined that the subject named Hoang is actually Bui Dinh Hung, who is being wanted by the CuMgar District Police, Dak Lak Province for the crime of "Abuse of trust to appropriate property" but is currently on the run.

On April 13, Bui Dinh Hung was caught red-handed by Hoang Mai City Police while defrauding a victim from Nghia Khanh commune, Nghia Dan district.

At the investigation agency, Hung initially said his name was Hoang, but then realized he could not hide his identity so he bowed his head and confessed.

In 2014, Bui Dinh Hung was sentenced by the Dak Lak Provincial People's Court to 2 years in prison for "Abuse of trust to appropriate property". In 2016, just after being released from prison, the subject was sentenced by the Bien Hoa City People's Court, Dong Nai Province to 1 year in prison for "Receiving property obtained by others through criminal acts".

After finishing his rehabilitation period, and having just been released from prison without finding a job to make an honest living, Hung continued to commit the crime of "Fraudulent appropriation of property" and was prosecuted by the Investigation Police Agency of Cu Mgar District, Dak Lak Province, but he quickly fled to the North to continue living as a fraudster.

According to the investigation and verification of the Hoang Mai City Police Department, before being arrested, Bui Dinh Hung had committed 5 frauds to appropriate people's property.
