(Baonghean.vn)-When we learned that UNESCO had officially considered to honor the folk songs of Vi and Giam as intangible cultural heritage of humanity, we, the musicians and children of Nghe An, were very happy. Happy for our homeland, happy for the country, happy for the people of Nghe An, happy for the artistic community. Because this is a priceless product of the people working on this land, the land that people often call the unique indigenous culture of Nghe An.

Today, we have data and scientific foundations, so we cannot forget the gratitude of our predecessors who were researchers on culture and folk music. During their lifetime, poet Tran Huu Thung, playwright Nguyen Trung Phong... and especially the generation of senior musicians such as musicians Le Ham, Anh Duong and a number of other musicians. In their entire creative lives, they knew how to inherit an extremely large legacy, which is the folk music of Nghe An. Their works will last forever, always in the hearts of Nghe An people and people across the country. For example, musician Anh Duong, from a Kieu singing, created an immortal work, the song "Hello, Lam Hong girl" and later, we must mention musicians An Thuyen, Thanh Luu, Van The, Hoang Thanh, and many other musicians.

The works that we cannot help but mention from the 1970s, the works that have entered the hearts of millions of people from Nghe An and all over the country are the works “Listening to the boat singing at night, remembering Uncle Ho” by musician An Thuyen or the song “Hey workers, farmers, soldiers” by musician Thanh Tung, the sounds of those songs are typical of Nghe An folk songs. Later, many young musicians knew how to inherit and develop those folk sounds to compose famous songs and works.

As a composer myself, I am very fortunate to have grown up in the cradle of folk songs of Nghe An, so I have a few works that also carry the sound of Vi Dam folk songs and are well received by the public, such as "A Oi Vi Dam", "Thanh Chuong Moi Ban Ve Tham"... Any work I write about a rural area in Nghe An or a major theme for the country, I always start from the sound of Vi Dam folk songs. On this occasion, as a composer, I would like to thank the people, thank this sunny and windy land for distilling the deep and sweet folk songs and for today being recognized by the world as a great artistic creation of the working people in the homeland of Nghe An.
