Impersonating a terminal hospital, 'pickpocketing' 50 billion VND from diabetic and blood pressure patients
The subjects impersonated doctors to solicit more than 7,000 victims nationwide, thereby appropriating a total amount of nearly 50 billion VND.
The Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department of Bac Ninh Police presided over and coordinated with Tien Du District Police and other professional units of Bac Ninh Provincial Police to crack down on a fraud ring that created fan pages on Facebook impersonating major hospitals to sell drugs.

Bac Ninh police fight with the subject.
Specifically, Pham Viet Trung (born in 1995, in Hoa Lu, Ninh Binh) rented the 7th floor of building 251 Vu Tong Phan (Khuong Trung, Thanh Xuan, Hanoi) to open an office and hired 21 people to create fanpages with images and logos of major hospitals to attract patients who want to learn about treatment, thereby collecting personal information such as full name, phone number...
Next, the subjects will impersonate doctors to contact the victims to advise and invite them to buy treatment courses for diabetes, blood pressure, etc. These subjects advertise the products as exclusive medicines and functional foods prepared and produced by large hospitals.

Bac Ninh police officers inspect the evidence.
When customers have a need to use a certain type, the subjects order the product from traditional medicine businesses in Ba Vi district, Hanoi and then resell it to the victims at many times higher prices. Using this method and trick, from May 2022 to now, Trung and his accomplices have appropriated a total of nearly 50 billion VND from more than 7,000 victims nationwide, including many victims in Bac Ninh.
The police seized 67 phones, 37 computers of various types; more than 3,400 boxes of various products and many related evidences; at the same time, they decided to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused, and temporarily detain 22 subjects for the act of "fraudulent appropriation of property" and continue to expand the investigation.
