The group was arrested. |
Immediately after receiving the victim's report, Thanh Hoa City Police established a special project to fight the above group of subjects.
On March 3, at a luxury apartment building in Hanoi, the Task Force arrested the following subjects: Tran Nhat Duat (born in 1986), Tran Dinh Phuc (born in 2002), Nguyen Thanh Cao (born in 1999), Pham Ngoc Binh (born in 1996), all residing in Nghia Hung district, Nam Dinh province; Vu Tran Dung, Nguyen Khac Dong, Le Duc Minh, all born in 2003 and residing in Phu Tho province.Searching the suspects' residences, the police seized 12 mobile phones, 5 computer systems, many SIM cards, bank account cards, 10 fake seals related to the Northern Lottery Company, the 3-region Lottery Company and other electronic devices...
During the investigation, the subjects initially confessed: Because they needed money to spend, they discussed and agreed to edit the results and information of the lottery company, then directly used computers and phones to post the fake information on fake Facebook and Zalo accounts for advertising, and provided hotline phone numbers to lure players.
When someone contacts, this group of people will quote the price of each number when buying (each type of number will have a different denomination). Players must transfer money in advance, around 4:00 p.m. the subjects will transfer the numbers to the players and urge the players to bet big.
Tran Nhat Duat and Tran Dinh Phuc confessed to the investigation agency that the fake seals, lottery numbers, and fake information were posted online.
To create trust, these subjects also make fake stamps of lottery companies, forge signatures of company leaders, lottery lists with secret stamps, commitment stamps from the lottery house to send to victims, or post on social networks. When the buyer completes the transfer, they will block their Facebook, Zalo, and if by chance someone wins, the subjects will ask for a commission (or 10%) of the prize value to be transferred to them.
