Ambush to arrest subject transporting 100,000 drug pills
Thao Phet confessed that when he was transporting more than 100,000 synthetic drug pills from Laos across the border to Vietnam for consumption, he was arrested by authorities.

After many days of undercover patrols, at 12:00 on May 31, the Border Guard of Quang Binh province in coordination with the Security Department of Khammouane province (Laos) discovered a man driving a pickup truck along the Vietnam-Laos border trail.
The reconnaissance force followed the subject for dozens of kilometers of forest road. Waiting for the right moment, the reconnaissance forces swooped in to control and arrest the subject.
Upon inspection, the Border Guard discovered that the car contained many rectangular yellow plastic packages, cleverly hidden in many different forms. These were synthetic drugs that the subject had illegally transported from Laos to Vietnam with a quantity of 100,000 tablets of various types.

At the investigation agency, the subject named Thao Phet (50 years old), residing in Xam Xo village, Vieng Thoon district, Bolykhamxay province (Laos) admitted to the crime. Thao Phet confessed that when he was transporting the above drugs from Laos across the border to Vietnam for consumption, he was arrested by the authorities.
It is known that this is the second largest cross-border drug trafficking case since the beginning of the year on the Vietnam-Laos border that the Quang Binh Provincial Border Guard has fought and destroyed./.
