Plane nose flattened, emergency landing due to hail
Passengers on Delta Flight 1889 on the evening of August 7 had to go through terrifying moments when their plane was hit by a large hailstorm that cracked the cockpit window and crushed the nose while on its journey from Boston to Salt Lake, USA.

The plane encountered hail while flying through a storm, forcing the pilot to make an emergency landing in Denver, CNN quoted Delta airline officials as saying. The windshield was cracked and the nose, which houses weather radar and navigation equipment, was also severely damaged, according to Liz Savadelis, a representative of the airline.
Laura Coale, a spokeswoman for Denver International Airport, said one person was taken to the hospital shortly after the plane landed. Coale did not elaborate on the cause but confirmed the plane experienced "severe turbulence."
"I fly very often, but this was the scariest 10 minutes of my life," passenger Robin Jones said as he got off the plane. "I was thinking, 'Did I say I love everyone?'" Jones said of her experience on the flight.
"We were standing by the window in the waiting room and we could see the windshield was shattered," said Rob Wessman, a passenger on the ground. "The nose was gone. The damage was pretty bad."
The US Federal Aviation Administration announced that it will investigate the incident.
